Handheld —

Handheld is a project that began as an investigation of images in both their print and physical representations. I aimed to understand how the image blended both past and present, and tried to prove how an image is more than just a memory frozen in time.

This project won several awards and was featured in multiple gallery exhibitions.

year: 2017

Handheld seeks to question the illusion and truth in what a photograph represents in the digital age. The work is inspired by the way humans perceive images in space, the way we consider a photograph as a memory or a piece of time, and the way physical photographs exist in our everyday lives.

Using found images and both digital and film prints, I focused on time as a theme and worked to highlight the illusion of truth that is often associated with photography.
